What did you do today?
We were briefed on what is engineering design and about the projects. We observed an automatic waste sorting machine. We were taught about the basic concepts used in the design. We also discussed on what could be improved on the design. We created our own designs based on that and modelled it in google sketchup. We also went to observe what was the bicycle project about.
What did you learn today?
I learnt that design is mostly motivated by a need and has a certain process.
How do you feel about today’s activities?
I felt that this project has helped me to understand more about the process of designing.

Day 1
Pre-camp
What sounds interesting about this project?
We are able to have the freedom to design and create our own machine.
What do you think you can learn from this project?
I want to learn the correct process of designing and how to make my ideas a reality.
Plenerary Sessions
Session 2
“Keep things simple, perfect it later”
2D animation is a traditional and IT can help to make the process less laborious and easier.
3D animations are actually cheaper than 2D animations due to the amount of labour and help from 3D animation softwares.
Session 3
Nano-technology has many practical uses as it can save a lot of space.
Mother nature makes things the best.
I'm never to young to start something big. (For example, a 17 year-old invented a new way to treat cancer.)
When a microscope is so precise and close to the atoms, the atoms can be interacted with.
